"In recent years, the global defense industry has undergone significant changes due to shifting alliances, emerging economic powers, and technological advancements. In 2023, the industry faces the challenge of keeping up with rapidly evolving technology and geopolitics to ensure citizen safety. This involves staying ahead in artificial intelligence, autonomous solutions, and robotics, while also addressing issues like asymmetric threats, cyber warfare, and the increasing relevance of climate change in defense planning. To succeed, defense organizations must be highly adaptable and prioritize innovation."
Micael Johansson, president and CEO of SAAB Group, will on November 8 (JP time: 4-5 pm) share his view on the role of the defense industry in our society and outline his strategic priorities for SAAB. He will also comment on how current geopolitical uncertainties impact the company and what he considers as crucial measures in order to continue to keep our world a safe place.
The conversation with Mr Johansson will be led by Meia Nouwens, Senior Fellow for Chinese Defence Policy and Military Modernization at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).
