CEO EVENT
  • 18 November 2026 09:00 - 10:30

  • Ark Mori Building 16F (Business Sweden)

It is time for the 20th CEO Roundtable Discussion, exclusive to Executive Management within our Corporate Members. The purpose of this meeting is for CEOs to extend their network, get updated, and discuss issues within the Swedish-Japanese business community.

Our keynote speaker this time is Mr. Akira Ukaji, Country Manager & Representative Director, Saab Technologies Japan Co., Ltd., overseeing Saab’s business strategy and development in the Japanese market. He has more than 18 years of experience across the defence industry, strategic consulting, and advanced technology sectors, including roles at BAE Systems and Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting. Mr. Akira Ukaji joined Saab in 2024 and has since led efforts to strengthen the company’s business foundation and expand its presence in Japan. He studied political philosophy at Keio University, with a focus on national security, defence policy, and civilian control. Outside work, his interests include sporting clay shooting, reading science fiction, and training in Hakkoryu Jujutsu.

Saab is Sweden’s leading defence and security company and the largest defence company in the Nordic region, established in 1937. It provides advanced technologies and solutions across aeronautics, sensors, command and control, naval systems and weapon systems. Saab began operating in Japan in 1984 and has maintained a presence for more than 40 years, supporting customers across the air, land, and maritime domains. In recent years, Saab has strengthened its long-term commitment to Japan by establishing its Japanese subsidiary and expanding its local capabilities. In 2026, Saab launched “Saab 3.0” in Japan, marking a new phase focused not only on delivering advanced defence capabilities, but also on joint development, industrial cooperation and collaboration with Japanese industry in global markets. Through Saab 3.0, the company aims to evolve beyond its traditional role as an equipment supplier and become a trusted strategic partner contributing to Japan’s defence, security and defence-industrial development.
