Table tennis or ping pong, invented in England during the late 19th century, is today one of the most widely played sports in the world; by some estimates, more than 300 million people have taken it up as their main hobby. STIGA SPORTS, founded in Sweden in 1934, is one of the leading manufacturers of table tennis equipment and table tennis wear. Even though their products were available for purchase at stores across Japan for many decades, STIGA SPORTS JAPAN K.K. was only established in November 2016.

Over the coming decades, it plans to diversify the country's energy mix by relying less on fossil fuel and nuclear energy. As a company equipped with the know-how and experience in generating alternative energies such as geothermal, Climeon, a Swedish company founded in 2011, believes it can help Japan better-utilize some of its untapped resources.
